From Middle Radestrian míns, from Old Radestrian mûns, inherited from Proto-Radic *mųns, from Proto-Hirdic *mɯ́ḡɯnɯs, from Proto-Laenkean *mɯgɯnɯs. Cognate with Riyan muŗa (“moon”).
