Edit-copy green.svg Documentation for Template:m+. [edit]
This page contains usage information, categories, interwiki links and other content describing the template.

Used to link to a Laenktionary entry.

There are three similar templates for this function, and their different usage should be noted:

  • {{l}} should be used for wikilinks in a list. For example, this might be a list of synonyms or derived terms.
  • {{m}} should be used within free-form text. For example this might be in the middle of a paragraph on usage or as part of an etymology.
  • {{m+}} should be used in the same environment as {{m}} (i.e. free-form text) but where the name of the language is desired.

Usage

{{m+|rad|sjelt|t=to know}} produces: Radestrian sjelt (“to know”).

Parameters

|1= (required)
Specifies the language code, e.g ryn or lnk-pro.
|2= (required)
Specifies the word that is being linked to, e.g. {{m+|ryn|ŗeine}} for Riyan ŗeine.
|3= or |alt=
Specifies the display text to show up instead of the basic word lemma, e.g. {{m+|ryn|ŗeine|alt=ŖEINE}} for Riyan ŖEINE.
|4= or |t= or |text=
Specifies an optional gloss to be shown alongisde the word, e.g. {{m+|rad|háșers|t=December}} for Radestrian háșers (“December”).
|anchor= or |a=
Specifies an anchor to jump to. This will override the language name; see {{anchor}} for more information.
|hypo=1, |hypothetical=1
Places a double asterisk before the form.
N.B. does not remove the link. To remove the link, use |nolink=.
|nobold=1
Generally, if a link is on the page it is linked to, it will display as unlinked bold text. This is automatically disabled in certain etymology templates, however. In the case of linking to a homograph in another language's entry on the same page, this parameter is used to re-activate the link.
e.g. {{l|ryn|la}} under the Radestrian entry on la will not link to the Riyan entry on the same page. {{l|ryn|la|nobold=1}}, however, will override this.
|nolink=1
Creates plain text instead of a link. This is useful in etymology templates.
|nostar=1
Proto-languages automatically acquire the asterisk when cited. This parameter disables this if you would like to link to a proto-word without the asterisk.
|pos=
Specifies an optional part of speech to be shown alongside the word, e.g. {{m+|rad|háșers|pos=noun}} for Radestrian háșers (noun). This is typically extended to any side note that does not appear in quotation marks.
When combined with |t(ext)=, these show up together in the brackets, e.g. {{m+|rad|háșers|pos=Laenkean|t=December}}Radestrian háșers (“December”, Laenkean).

Notes

  • This template can be used with proto-languages, as it automatically handles the insertion of an asterisk (*) to mark reconstruction and linking to the appendix for the language.
For example, {{m+|lnk-pro|cel-|céltʰes}} produces Proto-Laenkean *céltʰes.
