From Middle Radestrian tauvíș, tovíș, from Old Radestrian tawwīšjre, tawȳšjre, inherited from Proto-Radic *taɣwēr, *taɣwīšjir, from Proto-Hirdic *caghuéḡis, from Proto-Laenkean *cʼm̥gʱuéges. Cognate with Laefevian jungwis.
