From Middle Radestrian plásspruþs, from Old Radestrian prāðspruþro, inherited from Proto-Radic *pārðspurθur (“leek/onion soup”), equivalent to prázs (“leek”) + spruoþs (“soup”). The loss of the /l/ is a dialectal development.
