From Middle Radestrian fjórks, from Old Radestrian fjōrkro, inherited from Proto-Radic *ɸjōrkur (“mugwort”), from Proto-Hirdic *phjóḡurkus, from Proto-Laenkean *pʰjogorkʼos. Cognate with Laefevian pjôrz (“mugwort”).
