Etymology
From Middle Radestrian févvarubeșavatre, varubeșavatre, from févvarubér (“one and a half”) + șavatre (“twenty”), equivalent to fjøvarbír + sjavate. Displaced the decimal lístus, from Proto-Radic *līdcıls.
Pronunciation
Numeral
varște pl (genitive plural varștis)
- thirty (30)
Usage notes
- Followed by the short genitive plural.
- This is one of the handful of Radestrian numerals that are grammatically plural: sjavate (“twenty”), varște (“thirty”), atește (“forty”), lirește (“sixty”), aește (“eighty”) and aevaște (“ninety”). All other numerals are grammatically singular.
