From Middle Radestrian vésns, vésuns, vétuns, from Old Radestrian lǫtŭns, inherited from Proto-Radic *lǫtıns, from Proto-Hirdic *lɤ̄́tənəs, from Proto-Laenkean *lajtʼanas. Cognate with Laefevian lêdans (“portal”).
