From Middle Radestrian azérstt, azerstt, from Old Radestrian ajzǫrþht, inherited from Proto-Radic *ajzǫrθht, from Proto-Hirdic *ajzɤ̄́rth- (“to pass on”) from Proto-Laenkean *ɲ̊ɟzájr̥tʰ-. Cognate with Riyan şertad (“to bequeath”).
