From Middle Radestrian rvǿņs, from Old Radestrian rwø̄ŋre, inherited from Proto-Radic *rwęŋir, from Proto-Hirdic *rwø̄́ŋis, from Proto-Laenkean *rwewŋ-. Doublet of rvýș (“area”) and cognate with Laefevian vrøñ and Riyan rioŗ.
