From Middle Radestrian névs, from Old Radestrian nēvre, inherited from Proto-Radic *nēβir, from Proto-Hirdic *nḗbhis, from Proto-Laenkean *nejbʱes. Cognate with Lusetian nif, Riyan neiv and Laefevian niv.
