From Middle Radestrian trașns, from Old Radestrian trašŭns, inherited from Proto-Radic *taršıns, from Proto-Hirdic *tárc̱ənəs, *trəc̱ánəs, from Proto-Laenkean *tʼarc-. Cognate with Riyan trișa and Laefevian duran.
