Radestrian

Etymology

From Middle Radestrian nurus, from Old Radestrian nurwur, inherited from Proto-Radic *nurwur, from Proto-Hirdic *núrwus, from Proto-Laenkean *norwos. The lack of metathesis in Old Radestrian suggests it was loaned from or influenced by another Radic/Hirdic language, such as Old Lusetian nurwur.

Pronunciation

  • IPA(key)/ˈnɔrɤs/
  • Rhyme: -ɔrɤs
  • Syllabification: no–rus

Noun

norus inan (countable, genitive singular nurvu, nominative plural norui, compound form noru-, nurv-, relational adjective nurviș)

  1. colour
  2. paint, dye
