From Middle Radestrian fýfýș, from Old Radestrian fȳfȳšjre, inherited from Proto-Radic *ɸwīɸwijir, *ɸwīɸwijišjir, from Proto-Hirdic *phwī́phwihis, from Proto-Laenkean *pʰwejpʰwehes. Reanalysed as a light stem.
