This page contains usage information, categories, interwiki links and other content describing the template.

The word can be defined in the first parameter; if it is omitted, it will use the current page title.

Extra settings can be called in any order:

  1. |cite: citation form (lists formatted phonemic with phonetic if different); |col(loquial) and |nolarge can still be called
  2. |col or |colloquial: uses colloquial phonology, automatically activates |phon
  3. |format: formats the output using the appropriate IPA format
    • |nolarge: the format is produced using the normal-sized IPA class
  4. |phon: narrow transcription
  5. |nopref, |nosuff: disables automatic secondary stress recognition

  • {{lfv-IPA|kwilliehda}} → kwilljexda
  • {{lfv-IPA|kwilliehda|phon}} → ˈku̯illi̯ehda~ˈku̯illi̯eɦda
  • {{lfv-IPA|kwilliehda|format}}/kwilljexda/
  • {{lfv-IPA|kwilliehda|format|phon}}[ˈku̯illi̯ehda~ˈku̯illi̯eɦda]
  • {{lfv-IPA|kwilliehda|format|colloquial}}, {{lfv-IPA|kwilliehda|format|col}}[ˈku̯iʎʎeːða]

Secondary stress can be manually marked with _:

  • {{lfv-IPA|epur_turad|cite}}/epurturad/ [ˈepur̥ˌturad̥]

Secondary stress assignment is also done automatically with the affixes listed in Module:lfv-IPA/affixes. This functionality can be overridden with |nopref and |nosuff.

  • {{lfv-IPA|adeskisellens|cite}}/adeskisellens/ [ˈadeskiˌsellens]
  • {{lfv-IPA|adeskisellens|phon|nosuff}} → ˈadeskisellens
