From Middle Radestrian rașș, from Old Radestrian ræšs, inherited from Proto-Radic *ræšs (“voice”, genitive *ræjejg), from Proto-Hirdic *sǽp̄əjəs, from Proto-Laenkean *sæpæɟæs. Cognate with Riyan sah and partially also Laefevian sapient (“brain”).
