From Middle Radestrian fjuktt, from Old Radestrian fjoktt, inherited from Proto-Radic *ɸjokht, from Proto-Hirdic *phjok, from Proto-Laenkean *pʰjokʼ-. Cognate with Riyan piogad (“to bake, to roast”) and Laefevian føgad (“to burn”).
