Etymology

From Old Lusetian sjalɣs, inherited from Proto-Radic *θjalɣs, from Proto-Hirdic *thjálghəs, from Proto-Laenkean *tʰjalgʱ-. Cognate with Ardian têls (“yearning”), Radestrian þjalus (“anger”) and partially Laefevian þiêljens (“sorrow”).
