This template should be used in the etymology section of an entry.

The language code

|2=

Optionally, the person, institution or group that coined the term

|in=

Optionally, the year in which the term was coined

|nocat=

Whether no category should be added. If this is omitted, the category LANGNAME coinages will be added.

|notext=

Whether the initial text should be omitted or not.

|nocap=

Whether the initial letter of the text should be a lowercase letter or not.
