From Old Riyan painșad, from Proto-Riyanic *páins̱ădă, from Proto-Hirdic *pɛ̄nc̱-, from Proto-Laenkean *pʼæjnc- (“to talk”). Cognate with Radestrian pjánșt (“to chat”) and Laefevian besad (“to converse”).
