Riyan

Etymology

From Old Riyan rēht, from Proto-Riyanic *rwéhădă (“to get”), from Proto-Hirdic *rweḵ- (“to get, to take”), from Proto-Laenkean *rwek- (“to hold, to find”). Cognate with Radestrian røat (“to take”) and Laefevian vrêkad (“to get”).

  2. forms the mediopassive voice when combined with a participle

    I am becoming ill from working too much. (lit. "I am being turned ill")

Usage notes

  • In the sense of "to get", the basic inflected form is the future tense, like with most Riyan verbs. In the verb's auxiliary sense however, the inflected form is the present tense.
