Appendix:Proto-Radic/-ɣor
Proto-Radic
Alternative forms
Etymology
From Proto-Hirdic *-ghós, from Proto-Laenkean *-ɡʱós. This development is famously unexpected, as the stressed *ó is expected to become *á after the preceding velar. This is typically understood to have been a mass levelling with the other o-stem ending, *-ðor.
