Riyan

Etymology

From Old Riyan sōr, from Proto-Riyanic *swáră, from Proto-Hirdic *swærəs (“fire”), from Proto-Laenkean *swær- (“to burn”). The modern term underwent sporadic delengthening at some point, likely completed by around the 12th century. Cognate with Radestrian lvars.
