From Old Riyan luŗke, from Proto-Riyanic *lúḡke, from Proto-Hirdic *luḡkés (“body”), from Proto-Laenkean *lugkʼés, a nominal derivation from *liwg- (“to breathe”). Cognate with Laefevian lygge.
