From Old Riyan hugke, from Proto-Riyanic *ḵúgke, from Proto-Hirdic *ḵughkés (“dough”), from Proto-Laenkean *kugʱkés, a nominal derivation from *kewgʱ- (“to roast, to bake”). Cognate with Radestrian huoca and Laefevian kygge (“bread”).
