This template makes it easy to show that a term is a calque of a term in another language in the etymology section of its entry.

Usage

All you need is the language code being calqued into, the language code being calqued from and the term that is being calqued.

From {{affix|ryn|vaeniş|nynt|t1=new|t2=year}}, a {{calque|ryn|rad|vanints|nocap=1|t=first month}}.

Generates the following:

From vaeniş (“new”) + nynt (“year”), a calque of Radestrian vanints (“first month”).

Parameters

|1= (required)
The language code the etymology belongs to.
|2= (required)
The language code of the language being calqued from.
|3= (required)
The term in the other language which is being calqued.
|t=
Optionally specifies a gloss to show with the term in the other language.
|nocap=
If provided with a value, e.g. |nocap=1, then it will display 'calque of' instead of 'Calque of' (i.e. no capital letter). This is useful if you're putting this in an etymology section with text appearing before it.
|nocat=
If provided with a value, e.g. |nocat=1, then no categories will be added to the page.
