From Old Riyan naŗaor, from Proto-Riyanic *năhjɤ́ră (“season”), from Proto-Hirdic *nəp̄ɤ̄́rəs (“period of time, season”), from Proto-Laenkean *napajras (“time period”). Cognate with Laefevian ampêris (“vernal”).
