From Old Riyan mugke (“prophecy”), from Proto-Riyanic *múgke (“remains of a ritual; prophecy”), from Proto-Hirdic *mughkés (“remains of a ritual; ashes, debris”), from Proto-Laenkean *mugʱkʼés, a nominal derivation from *(s)miwgʱ- (“to perform a ritual”).
