Etymology

From Old Riyan saorvad, from Proto-Riyanic *sáurvădă, from Proto-Hirdic *saḡórḇ- (“to hang from”), from Proto-Laenkean *sn̥<gó>rḇ- (“to swing, to sway”). Cognate with Laefevian engurad (“to hang”).
