Etymology

From Old Riyan șko, from Proto-Riyanic *s̱kó, from Proto-Hirdic *ksghós (“land”), from Proto-Laenkean *kʼăzgʱós (“flat”). Cognate with Radestrian azga (“country”) and Laefevian girǧuo (“podium”).
