From Middle Radestrian kvars, from Old Radestrian kwærs, inherited from Proto-Radic *kwærs, from Proto-Hirdic *kwǽrəs, from Proto-Laenkean *kʼwær(tʰ)æs. Cognate with Laefevian gwarþs.
