From Middle Radestrian sljár, from Old Radestrian tljǣr, inherited from Proto-Radic *tljǣr, *tljīšjir, from Proto-Hirdic *tliḡéḡis, from Proto-Laenkean *tʼligéges. Cognate with Ardian šiâ (“hatred”) and Lusetian lhiē.
