From Middle Radestrian hílra, from Old Radestrian hijðra, inherited from Proto-Radic *higðor, from Proto-Hirdic *ṯiḡdhós, from Proto-Laenkean *tigdʱós. Cognate with Riyan hiŗdo and Laefevian tið.
