From Old Riyan myftar, from Proto-Riyanic *mýftără, from Proto-Hirdic *mýp̄tərəs (“apple”), from Proto-Laenkean *myptʼaras (“fruit, apple”). Cognate with Radestrian mytars and Laefevian ampar.
