From Old Riyan trișan, from Proto-Riyanic *trăs̱ánă, from Proto-Hirdic *trəc̱ánəs (“flour”), from Proto-Laenkean *tʼr̥cánas (“to crush, to grind”). Cognate with Radestrian trașns.
