Etymology

From Middle Radestrian azgra, agzgra, from Old Radestrian aksɣra, inherited from Proto-Radic *aksɣor, from Proto-Hirdic *ksghós, from Proto-Laenkean *kʼǎzgʱós. Cognate with Ardian asko, Lusetian aksu, Riyan șko and Laefevian girǧuo (“podium”).
