From Middle Radestrian aretiss, from Old Radestrian ɣretīr, inherited from Proto-Radic *ɣirtijir, from Proto-Hirdic *ghistíṯis, from Proto-Laenkean *gʱistit-. Cognate with Laefevian ǧêstiþ (“breakfast”).
