Etymology
From Old Riyan tarna, from Proto-Riyanic *tárnă, from Proto-Hirdic *thárnəs (“animal”), from Proto-Laenkean *tʰarnas (“beast, wild animal”). Cognate with Radestrian þrans (“animal”) and Laefevian þaran (“beast”).
