Usage

{{IPA|ryn|/ˈvydɛ/}}

Generates:

IPA(key)/ˈvydɛ/

You can also do

{{IPA|ryn|/ˈvydɛ/|linked=1|nolarge=1|nopre=1}}

Generates:

/ˈvydɛ/

Note that if you're using all those options together, all with a true value i.e. 1, for example in a Laenkipedia article, you can use the shortcut templates {{wipa}} and {{tipa}}.

You can return to normal wiki text by escaping with *asterisks*, which is useful for adding in-line notes:

{{IPA|ryn|/ˈvydɛ/ *(''officially'')*|/ˈvidɛ/ *(''Vontevian'')*|linked=1|nolarge=1|nopre=1}}

Generates:

/ˈvydɛ/ (officially), /ˈvidɛ/ (Vontevian)

You are now also able to input X-SAMPA. This will not apply to escaped text. Due to complications with the above functionality, the escape character for this feature is #.

{{IPA|ryn|/jU\"fO@r\i@/#~ *(jU\"fO@r\i@)*|linked=1|nolarge=1|nopre=1}}

Generates:

/jᵿˈfɔəɹiə/~ (jU\"fO@r\i@)
