From Old Ardian ϫⲓⲛⲥ, inherited from Proto-Radic *źijıns, from Proto-Hirdic *zjip̄ɯ́nɯs, from Proto-Laenkean *zjipɯ́nɯs. Cognate with Lusetian zîn, Radestrian ziens and Laefevian zimpa.
