Etymology
From Old Riyan pjogad, from Proto-Riyanic *pjógădă, from Proto-Hirdic *phjok- (“to cook, to heat up”), from Proto-Laenkean *pʰjokʼ- (“to heat up, to burn”). Cognate with Radestrian fjukt (“to cook”) and Laefevian føgad (“to burn”).
