From Old Riyan melþir, from Proto-Riyanic *mélṯiri, from Proto-Hirdic *mélṯisis (“cabbage”), from Proto-Laenkean *meltisis (“green-leaf”). Cognate with Radestrian blairs (“cabbage”).
